The entrance to Karkonosze National Park is just above Orlinek. The red trail goes through a wide, smooth path in the forest and leads to  „Nad Łomniczką” mountain hut. This section is available for families with children carried in prams. It is a good idea to eat famous pancakes with blueberries and cream before continuing your trip. It is interesting to note that it is the only mountain hut in the Giant Mountains without access to electricity that's why it offers only catering services without the possibility to sleep over. Here the trail starts climbing steeply to the Pass under Śnieżka (Przełęcz pod Śnieżką). Cascades of Łomniczka (Kaskady Łomniczki) or the Symbolic Cemetery of People of Mountain (Symboliczny Cmentarzyk Ofiar Gór) are great places to rest for a while. It is important to mention that in winter the section from „Nad Łomniczką” mountain hut to „Dom Śląski” mountain hut on the Pass under Śnieżka (Przełęcz pod Śnieżką) is closed due to danger of avalanches! Now, you are in front of „Domem Śląskim” at1400 masl. From here, it is only 203 metres to the top of Śnieżka. Of course it only a raise! But it is within our grasp to reach the destination. There are two options to reach the top:  calm Jubilee Road (Droga Jubileuszowa) or hairpin turnes.  Regardless of the chosen option it takes about 30-45 to reach the highest peak of the Giant Mountains. The state border runs here which explains Polish and Czech buildings. The most characteristic object is Meteorological Observatory (Wysokogórskie Obserwatorium Meteorologiczne) which unique architecture resembles  flying saucers. The baroque Chapel of St. Lawrence is the most precious monument built in the years 1665-1681 and established by Krzysztof Leopold Schaffgotsch. On the Czech side there is a post office and a little bit lowe the top station of cable car. The top of Mount Śnieżka is a great observation point. If the visibility is good you can notice Mountain Ślęża and lights of Wrocław.
