Safety in the mountains

Safe mountain climbing

Preparation before going into the mountains:
– Prepare yourself physically before the trip into mountains.
– Gather information on the mountains your are heading (details on the routes and their conditions, weather conditions in the mountains, possible risks).
– Plan routes according to capabilities and skills of all people accompanying you.
– Learn more on present weather conditions and weather forecast before going into the mountains.
– Going into the mountains alone is dangerous
– If it is possible, go on a trip in a group .
– Take necessary equipment !!

 

Do not forget to take:

o a rucksack
o footwear appropriate for weather conditions
o clothing which protects from rain and wind
o spare warm clothes
o handy first aid kit
o food supplies and drinks
o a map and a compass
o a torch
o a mobile phone with full battery charge and recorded emergency numbers
o cap and gloves in winter
o alpenstock and crampons on more difficult routes in winter (special training is necessary)

RESCUE app

Owing to the Rescue application, mountain climbing can be much safer. It helps locate a person who calls for a help by sending detail navigation information (on the basis of GPS data). Rescuers know where to go and provide help quickly and effectively!
