Fit Trail (Trasa Zdrowia)

Fit Trail (Trasa Zdrowia)

A short, easy trail for people all ages; Make sure you have something to drink or eat. Not well accessible for prams or persons in wheelchairs.

The walking path is in the centre of the town but it meanders through the secluded paths of the forest away from the crowd on the promenade. Look for its beginning between the playground at Parkowa Street and the Museum of Sports and Tourism at Kopernika Street. We recommend you to visit these two places before you start your walk. The Museum provides a lot of information on Karpacz and the Giant Mountains and children  can swing and slide and have some fun. In 100 metres the asphalt road turns into a gravel road and leads to quite some cave, at least this is how residents of Karpacz call this place. You may enter the cave and take a look from the path which goes on the upper edge of the cave. This route will take higher up to the top of Pohulanka. And during your laborious climbing do not forget to look around because somewhere between the tree you may see the beautiful view over Karpacz and the Giant Mountains with their highest peak Śnieżka. Just above the cave the true Fit Path begins, that means several points with fitness equipment for people of all ages, starting from a preschooler to a senior. Exercises are illustrated and described on the tables. Try to exercise, just for pleasure or compete with others, i.e.adults versus children. You will see how pleasurable walking this path can be. Tracing next point of the path you will reach the top of Pohulanka. This where upper stations of  luge track "Kolorowa" are located so pay more attention to your safety. A beautiful view unfolds from the wooden bridge over one of  the tracks over the centre of Karpacz, Karpatka Mountain, located opposite to Pohulanka (a walk on its slopes is our next proposal) and over  Jelenia Góra Valley and surrounding mountains such as Rudawy Janickie from the east side and Kaczawskie Mountains from the north side. This view takes your breath away at any time of day or in the year. You may go down the centre of Karpacz through the meadow of Pohulanka (it is impossible in winter due to the ski lift and the ski slope where pedestrians have no access). You may finish the loop of the path and come back to the Museum of Sports and Tourism or turn back approx. 100 metres, turn left and follow the forest path to Hotel Karkonosze where an asphalt road leads to the main street Konstytucji 3 Maja, just above the tunnel.
